Sex, Drugs, and TV: Manifesting Harm Reduction through AIDS Activist Media

This screening brings together historic activist videos from the early AIDS crisis along with recent artist videos commissioned by Visual AIDS. The videos speak to the ongoing urgency of the AIDS crisis and offer inspiration and insight for contemporary conversations around harm reduction. Featuring videos by Cheryl Dunye & Ellen Spiro, Shanti Avirgan, Carol Leigh, Danny Kilbride, Mikiki, and more. Organized by Kyle Croft and Blake Pascal, followed by a Q&A with Kyle Croft.

Collective Creativity: Making the Worlds We Want

Roundtable Discussion with Rosine 2.0 collective members. Conversation with members of Mad Ecologies (Nick Angelo, Raani Begum, Lulu Duffy-Tumasz) and Circle Keepers (Folami Irvine and Misty Sol). Carol Stakenas, moderator.

 

Living with History: Archives and Community Engagement

A panel of archivists, artists, and historians will discuss their work in and out of archives and in different communities, all with the shared goal of preserving community agency and filling historical gaps. Featuring Samantha Hill (UPenn, Kislak), Carolyn Levy (SMU), and Winter Rae Schneider (People’s Media Record). Moderated by Jordan Landes.
